Target Student:

Students taking this course are system administrators or prospective system administrators who have one year of experience working with Windows Server who want to further develop their administration skills for Active Directory and Windows Server 2012.

This course is also for students seeking the Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) certification and want to prepare for Exam 70-411, Administering Windows Server 2012.

Prerequisites:

To ensure your success in your course you should have experience administering Windows Server 2012, including installing Windows Server 2012, using administrative tools, configuring system properties, and configuring networking settings. You can obtain this level of skills and knowledge by taking the following Logical Operations courses:

Hardware

For this course, you will need one computer for each student and one for the instructor. Each computer will need the following minimum hardware configurations:

Microsoft Hardware Level 6:

  • 64-bit Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) or Advanced Micro Devices Virtualization

(AMD-V) processor

  • 2 GB RAM minimum, 8 GB recommended
  • 120 GB hard disk, 7200 RPM Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) or better
  • DVD-ROM drive
  • Keyboard and mouse (or other pointing device)
  • 1024 x 768 resolution 17″ SVGA monitor recommended
  • Network cards and cabling for local network access
  • Printer (optional) or an installed printer driver
  • Projection system to display the instructor’s computer screen
